Offline/Online sync via VPN

avatar

Hi,

We are currently evaluating the product (looks good).
There is one issue we need to address or work around - we have consultants in the field using laptops that may not get back to the local network to Sync the Offline copy of the DB with the online local SQL one for weeks at a time. They need access to updated connections on a weekly/daily basis and the product we are currently using can do this via VPN which is OK but when we do this with Remote Desktop manager we get "The current Datasource is unavailable - Cannot generate SSPI content". Is there a way around this or a better way to manage it ?
Should we just move to S3 or Azure ?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi,
I think that the SSPI error might be related to the connection to SQL Server, usually it's used with the domain user. Can you try to create an user not related to the domain and use it with the VPN ?

Also, we will launch in the next few week Remote Desktop Manager Online (already in beta internally). This is an SQL Server hosted by us on Windows Azure. Maybe this could be a solution for you.

Thanks, have setup an Azure DB and this will work better for us anyway so will run with that.
Thanks for you help.
Also.... Any thoughts of supporting XenServer's ???

Hi,
No problem for Azure. XenServer is already on our todo list. I hope that we will have the time to add this by the end of the year.
