RDM 9.0: private credential entry not usable

RDM 9.0: private credential entry not usable

avatar

I seem to be missing the ability to select a credential entry from the private vault.

I've added a credential entry to the private vault, then added an RDP session entry in the same vault.

When attempting to set Credentials for the session by selecting from the credential repository, only the public entries are shown with no way to select the private one. I can select My Personal Credentials, but then have to type in new credentials, and can't refer to the existing entry.

Don't know if this is an oversight or by design?

Thanks,
Jelle

Best regards,
Jelle Hillen

To use your own private vault, you need to use the Edit User Specific Settings because you are the only one who has access to your private vault. However on the other hand, everybody has an My Default Credentials which could be empty for most of them.

Sorry, but I have to back lunarg on this one - there is still something not quite right. What you are saying works fine for shared connections, but not for private connections (ie - connections created under the Private Vault). When I right-click on a private connection, the options to "Edit Entry (User Specific Settings)" and "Edit Entry (Local Machine Specific Settings)" are greyed-out!

Thanks

My mistake, I thought he was requesting the credentials in the other data source. You are both right you should be able to link a private credential entry to a private session entry.

Hi,
sorry, i have a question:
How can I place an Credential entry into "private" session ?? is only visible to a user ??

avatar

This is only visible to your user and this is why you will only be able to mix a private session and a private credential. To use a private credential with a normal session, you can use the User Specific settings.

hi,
sorry but I did not understand.
we use RDMS with shared session, the opportunity exists to create a private credential entry visible to a single user?
if you like you can do ?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I'm sorry, I found what I was looking for, but we can not connect a private session with a private session credential.
