limits

Hi I am just wondering if there are any limits/design considerations when moving alot of data into RDM.
We are looking to purchase and transfer our knowledge base from sharepoint to RDM as its a lot more efficient for how we work.
Are there and hard coded limits or best practices?
Is there ever a need to use multiple sql databases?
Just want to get this right first time rather than transferring everything and chancing it becoming slow.
Thanks

Hi,
There is no real limit but you have to know that RDM does not support the load on demand. This means that all the content will be loaded. What document type do you plan to use?

Were not going to use a document we are going to create data entry's (other) for for example we will have a separate
data entry for router, firewall, switches, servers, wireless, printers.
We are also going to create templates for each type so its quick to add one when needed and fill in the preset details

but we have 100's of customers so there's a lot of entry's.

When we attach a document to sql database is that downloaded on demand ?

I don't think this should be a problem. You can still use document attachment because it's downloaded on demand. However I think that you should use RDM 9.0 (currently in beta) because it has a new intelligent cache which is very efficient.

Great thanks, tried beta on my machine and was very impressed with the features. However I would rather not use beta in our live environment. Whens v9 officially released ?
