I have some Windows 2003 servers that let me automatically logon from Remote Desktop Manager and others that always prompt. I have tried resetting the saved password but nothing changes. Does anyone know if there a setting on the server or a version of the remote desktop client that needs to be installed to enable the auto logon?
Thanks, Neil
Hi,
Can you verify this:

I have checked that setting and it was set to "Not Configured", I tried setting is to "Disabled" but it didn't make any difference.

Hi again,
Can you try to open the connection embedded with Remote Desktop Manager and see if you have the problem?
David Hervieux
That doesn't seem to make any difference.
Hi,
Do you have the Enterprise edition, if not can you request a trial a retry the embedded mode with the password saved in the database?
David Hervieux
No difference I am afraid.
Ok,
This mean that it's not related to Remote Desktop Manager, it must something else that we miss. Just to be sure, you get the same behavior when you use mstsc.exe directly ?
David Hervieux
Yes same behaviour - using mstsc I can see that the username/password has been saved. The common theme seems to be the age of the server I am connecting (if that doesn't sound silly). Mostly I have the problem with older servers. The 2 I am currently comparing are both Win2k3 SP2 but the problem one was built about 2 years ago and the new one last month.
It feels like a setting on the server to me but I am not sure what.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
