Audio on Windows RDP connection crashes RDM

The latest update crashes when one of my windows RDP connections tries to make any sound. I've tried 2 separate connections, and the behaviour is the same: the desktop slides to the right, leaving a white surface, occasionally there's briefly an Android alert (it was too quick to catch, but I think it mentioned System UI not responding), then the app restarts.

I use a windows VM to write music via RDM on my android tablet, so this is kinda mission critical for me!

I've tried removing cache and storage files for the app on the tablet. I've restarted both the host and virtual servers I connect to via RDM and the problem persists.
