Embedded SFTP from SSH session prompts for TOTP again despite OTP configuration

avatar

In my SSH Shell session, I have configured PAM authentication using credentials and TOTP from a linked vault entry
Host: PAM bastion (...+$NAME$@bastion.local)
Credentials & OTP: Linked (vault)
Password prompt string: Password:
OTP prompt string: TOTP - Enter Token:

The standard SSH terminal session connects properly and passes the TOTP token automatically without manual intervention.

However, when launching Open embedded SFTP from this session, RDM prompts for the TOTP token again instead of retrieving it from the linked vault or reusing the existing authenticated session.

Does the embedded SFTP client support automatic OTP handling using the session's configured OTP prompt strings, or does it initiate a separate connection that ignores these rules? Is there a way to open embedded SFTP without having to re-enter the TOTP token manually?
