I got curious if there is a way to use our internal issued certificates for the login via adfs to our vcenter instance.
We only use this login process for our admin accounts and i cant find a way to implement that to rdm.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.
Certificate-based authentication through ADFS should work in Remote Desktop Manager if you open your vCenter URL in a Website entry. I have not been able to test this on my side, since we do not have this ADFS setup in our lab.
Could you please try the following?
Create a Website entry pointing to your vCenter URL.
In the entry properties, go to General > Settings and make sure Ignore certificate authentication is unchecked.
Open the entry. When ADFS requests a certificate, Remote Desktop Manager should ask you to select one from your personal certificate store.
Please let me know whether it works. If it does not, please send me your Remote Desktop Manager version and a screenshot of what you see at the ADFS step.
Best regards,
