When you are in Active Directory Tools, AD Users and Computers and AD DNS, you cannot start to type to jump to that entry. not exactly searching but similar. i.e. Highlight an entry, then start to type the name of the entry you want, and it jumps down to that entry. Type an R and the highlight jumps down to the start of the R entries, etc.

Could you show a screen capture of where in RDM you mean? I want to be sure we're thinking of the same feature. I'm assuming it's the Active Directory dashboard entry, where it lists the contents of your AD in a grid, is that correct?

Yes that's correct, the Active Directory Dashboard, and the DNS Dashboard.
