Default Monitor [2026.3.8.0]

Thanks for reporting this. To help narrow down what's happening with the monitor placement in 2026.3.8.0, could you confirm a few details:

1. How many monitors are connected, and which one is set as your Windows primary display?
2. Are the monitors at different resolutions or scaling percentages (e.g. 100% vs 150%)?
3. Does this happen only when RDM starts fresh, or also if you manually move the window to a monitor and then reopen a session or dialog (like the login/password prompt)?

As a quick check, could you test whether this only happens after the monitors have been unplugged and replugged (e.g. after sleep, docking/undocking, or a cable reconnect), versus also happening on a normal restart of RDM with the monitors already connected and stable?

Thanks for the details.

The login and password prompt opening on the laptop screen can usually be fixed with a setting. Go to File > Settings > User interface, and under Behavior, enable Center window on parent. Dialogs, including the credential prompt, should then open over the RDM window instead of on the primary display.

For the startup position, could you send us a short screen recording of the behavior? Please show RDM on the external monitor, close it with File > Exit, then reopen it so we can see where it comes back. If the credential prompt still opens on the laptop screen after enabling the setting above, please also open one of your SSH entries in the same recording. You can attach the video directly to this forum post.
