Unable to connect with Windows remote desktop embedded view after upgrading to v2026.3.5.0

Downgrading to v2026.2.19.0 restored access, which is what we've done for now. I was able to grab some diagnostic info and try some things before I downgraded. Here's what I tried (and some side notes that happened along the way):

  • If I right-clicked the entry and opened in external view (so using the native Windows Remote Desktop), it worked just fine.
    • Using "undocked" view did not.
    • In both failure modes what happened is that the "Connection to <IP_ADDRESS>" screen would just stay stuck forever
  • Double-clicking a website entry hung until we installed webview 2, despite the browser being set to Default, which is Google Chrome on that machine.
  • Double-clicking a website entry loaded it in a background tab rather than focusing the tab.

Diagnostics (before downgrade):
Remote Desktop Manager 2026.3.5.0 64-bit (JIT)
Runtime: .NET 10.0.12
Platform: Microsoft Windows 10.0.17763
Workspace: Local Data Source
Allocated memory: 558 MB

Sorry to the team if this ended up in two places. I submitted this and thought I saw an error message and didn't see it on the list, so I thought it errored and went and submitted a support ticket as well.

Hello,

We fixed quite a few problems related to RDP in our latest 2026.3.8.0. The bug you refer to seems quite similar to an issue we reproduced in Windows Server 2019.

We also fixed some focus issues with the double-click which might impact your website issue as well.

Could you update and let us know if any/all/none of the issues are fixed on your end?

Best Regards,

Michaël Beaudin
