Hi,
does the Type Username and Type Password hotkeys work normally on macOS?
I've configured them like this:
Type Clipboard: ⌃⌥⇧⌘2
Type Username: ⌃⌥⇧⌘3
Type Password: ⌃⌥⇧⌘4
For some reason only Type Clipboard works. The username and password hotkeys don't seem to do anything at all.
Is this supposed to work on macOS, or am I missing some setting somewhere?
Hi @kniem,
Thank you for reaching out.
This behavior is usually related to a missing macOS permission rather than a configuration issue with the hotkeys themselves. Type Username and Type Password rely on RDM being able to simulate keystrokes, while Type Clipboard does not, which is why only the clipboard hotkey works for you.
Could you please check the following:
1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility
2. Confirm that Remote Desktop Manager is listed and the toggle is enabled
3. If it is not listed, add it manually and enable it
4. Restart RDM and test the Type Username and Type Password hotkeys again
We look forward to your feedback.
Best regards,
