Bit of a strange issue...
If I connect to an iDRAC session (server 2025), and then use RDP from within that session to a Windows 11 machine, the connection freezes and eventually crashes RDM.
Once I restart RDM and reconnect back to the session, I can use it for around 15 seconds before RDM freezes, and eventually crashes again
Hello
That is a strange issue indeed.
Can you tell me, if you are using the native session type [Dell iDRAC] or the web session [Dell iDRAC (web)]?
If it's the native session type, I guess you have "Default" for the "Console Type" setting? In which case, can we know the firmware and hardware details of the DRAC? This is relevant, because there is more than one type of remote console and what gets used depends on the DRAC itself.
Thanks and kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
Hi!
I'm using the native session and console type is Automatic.
DRAC details:
Device Type 16G Monolithic
Hardware Version 0.01
Firmware Version 7.30.30.51
Server is a PowerEdge T360
Hello
Ok, sorry about this, I wanted to try and reproduce the problem on my side which is the easiest avenue to fixing it; but I've remembered that none of our DRACs have an OS installed (they're all running hypervisors).
So I'm afraid I need a little more information from your side.
You said RDM freezes and then crashes - is there any kind of error message when it crash, or it simply "disappears"? If it's the latter, can you check for corresponding entries in the System / Application event logs and share them with me? Most importantly, is there a corresponding .dmp file written to %localappdata%\crashdumps? Importantly if the answer is yes, please preserve the file(s) and let me know but don't post them here.
Please, let me know if something isn't clear or you have further questions
Kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
