SSH and local keys

I'm trying to secure some of my SSH connections with a certificate and for the life of me i can't get it to work with RDM...

I have the key in my .ssh folder, it shows up in the SSH key manager (local), it's loaded into the SSH key agent (not sure if this is needed, but i did it anyways), but no matter what i put for the options in the connection, i can't get it to connect, it just says

If i use PowerShell in windows, i can connect just fine.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.

I would recommend using a different, more robust approach. Instead of referencing the certificate directly, you can import your SSH certificate as an entry in Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) and then link that certificate to your SSH entries. This provides a more centralized and manageable solution.

You can find more information in the following documentation:
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/knowledge-base/knowledge-base-articles/entry-settings/ssh-key

Once you have created the SSH key entry, edit your SSH session and select the Linked (Vault) credential type. From there, you can link the newly created SSH key entry to the session.

Please let me know if this approach works for your environment. If you'd prefer to avoid this solution or have any additional questions, I'd be happy to help explore other options.

Best regards,

i missed your reply.

so i went into the ssh key manager and my key was automatically loaded from the .ssh directory
i then clicked and saved as an entry in my local database
the password is saved in the file and it shows the public key associated with it as well.

the SSH entry has the credentials set to "username/password", and i have my username filled out and 'send an empty password' is checked
on the sshkey tab i have the linked vault selected and my key selected.

i get the error when trying to connect now
