what's the difference between filter and search (not advance search)

Thank you for reaching out about the search behavior in Remote Desktop Manager. Could you first clarify if the "search" you mean is the Quick Search option? You can find it described here: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/ribbon-menu-bar/view/search/quick-search#quick-search-settings

If so, Quick Search lets you search without displaying the tree view, and it has its own settings for which fields it matches against. You can adjust these settings by pressing the button inside the search bar, on its right side.

Could you also share an example of the value you typed, and where it exists on the entry, such as name, description, or host? That will help me confirm why it isn't matching, and check whether this is a known limitation.

This is indeed the "Quick search" for which I have linked the documentation:

With your current configuration, the search will only run after you press "Enter." You can change this by unchecking "Launch on Enter."

Something to note also: it is currently only looking in your "User Vault." You may want to enable the additional options if the entries you are trying to search for are located somewhere else.

Let me know if you are still encountering issues with it. From testing on my end, it seems to be working as expected.

I found when I remove check on option "use search options and operators", it will works, but I cannot add another search criteria in one line, I expect it works like filter, I can input more than one search criteria.
My filter option already setup as treat space as AND.



I also found it only shows result when I input more than 2 characters in search field. Is this input more than 2 characters by design?
