Regardless of the recommended settings and my GPU 3070TI
The loading times for the application are agonizing
Here is the list of issues:
Hi @spstekno ,
Thank you for reaching out and for the detailed description of what you are seeing. I would be happy to help you get to the bottom of this.
Before we dig in, could you please share a few details so we can target the investigation correctly?
The workspace type is also directly tied to your second point about not seeing your entries sync across PCs: only shared workspaces such as DVLS, SQL Server, or Devolutions Cloud provide real-time synchronization between devices. A local XML or SQLite workspace stays on a single machine by design. Once we know which workspace you are on, I can confirm the expected behavior and the right next step for that part.
For the slow startup itself, here is what I would like to try, in order:
Step 1. Test with a Portable installation of RDM.
This isolates the application from any local configuration or cache that may be slowing it down. You can follow the steps here: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/how-to-articles/portable-rdm-installation/
Please launch the portable build and let me know whether the startup time is noticeably better.
Step 2. If the portable test still feels slow, please review the optimizations in this article and apply the ones relevant to your environment (hardware acceleration mode, code signature validation, telemetry on startup, antivirus exclusions, and the ReadyToRun build): https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/knowledge-base/troubleshooting-articles/improve-remote-desktop-manager-startup-performance
Step 3. If startup is still slow after the above, we will need a performance profiler trace so we can see exactly where the time is being spent.
To capture it:
We also ask that you close RDM and then launch it using Windows + R with the following command:
RemoteDesktopManager.exe /profiler:1 /automode /threshold:500 /autoclear:off
Please then reproduce the performance issue. Next, open the Help > Performance Profiler menu and send us the information displayed there.
Full reference for the profiler is available here: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/ribbon-menu-bar/help/performance-profiling#procedure
Looking forward to your reply with the version, the workspace type, and the result of the portable test.
Best regards,
Alexis Geller Peiro
