Hi, have done a bit of searching on this and it appears some versions of RDM allow for a Width/Height offset.
I am unable to find this setting in 2026.1.19.0. Has it been deprecated?
Looking for the possibility of creating a "margin/border" within the work area for RDP sessions. Illustrated in photo below.
The custom resolution works fine for this on the main productivity "office" machine. When using RDM on laptops in the field, it gets a bit tricky. Ideally a -20 or 40px width/height offset would be fantastic.
Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,
In RDM 2026.1.22.0, I do not see a dedicated Width/Height offset option exposed in the current RDP display settings. The Custom option allows a fixed custom width and height as you have stated, but I understand it can be a bit tricky when switching between multiple display sizes.
I will move this thread to the feature request section. This allows our community to submit/share ideas with our development, service desk, and management teams. It’s also an opportunity for our community to demonstrate an interest in your idea. We use this interest to prioritize the features we implement.

Hello,
Would it be possible for you to describe your scenario a little more? What's the reason behind requiring a margin around the RDP view? Is it just to clearly delineate between the content of the remote session and the rest of the application?
As far as I'm aware, we never had a specific setting for this, rather it's a side-effect of other display settings. Mainly, when you specify a resolution smaller than the available space, it will automatically add these borders. This is the default behavior of the RDP ActiveX control provided by Microsoft. It would be possible to add a setting to add a margin, but it would be another setting on top of the many others that might complexify the configuration of entries.

Hello, that is exactly what the intent is, you described it perfectly, just a clearer way to delineate between remote session and rest of the interface. Only reason I have asked about it as some LLM results reference an offset that makes this possible. Essentially creating a border around the RDP session as you have described it.
Thank you very much for the response, appreciate it.

Perfect, thank you for the additional information. I've opened an internal ticket for this. At the moment I can't give you an estimate on when we will be able to work on this but we will post back here once we have an update.

Thank you very much Hubert, that is very much appreciated! There is absolutely no urgency to this at all. Thank you for all the support so far, it has been outstanding!
