Hi,

RDM-ver: 2026.1.20.0
Devolutions-Server: 2023.1.12.0
I could do that before and i have working entrys with configured credentials.
It happens when i try to add a new entry.

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for the information.
Since you are using Remote Desktop Manager 2026.1.20.0 with Devolutions Server 2023.1.12.0, this may be related to the version gap between RDM and Devolutions Server.
As a quick test, could you try downgrading Remote Desktop Manager to the 2023.1 version and verify whether the credential option is available there?
You can download previous versions of RDM here:
https://devolutions.net/remote-desktop-manager/previous-versions/
That being said, we generally recommend keeping both Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions Server up to date whenever possible. If the option is available in RDM 2023.1, the best long-term solution would likely be to update Devolutions Server so it is closer to the RDM version you are currently using.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Hi Carl,
thanks for your response.
The Version of the Server unfortunately was a typo, the Server was on release 2026.1.12.0
Last night, i updated the Devolutions Server to the newest available release (2026.1.16.0) -> the Issue persists.
I downgraded RDM version to 2026.1.16.0-> still have the issue.
please guide me how we can move on in with this case.
Best Regards,
Thomas
Hello Thomas,
Thank you for the update and for confirming the Devolutions Server version.
As the issue persists after updating Devolutions Server and testing with RDM 2026.1.16.0, could you please try using the OpenVPN GUI entry instead of the OpenVPN Connect entry?
In the OpenVPN GUI entry, it should be possible to configure the authentication information from the Login section.
Could you test this on your side and let me know if the credentials can be configured properly with that entry type?
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Hi Carl,
I can configure credentials with OpenVPN Connect.
by using OpenVPN GUI, the OpenVPN 2.X Client is required, which we dont usually use.
With OpenVPN Connect, the OpenVPN 3.X Client would be used (which we want).

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for the clarification.
Since this was working before, could you please confirm which Remote Desktop Manager version you were using when you were still able to configure the credentials for the OpenVPN Connect entry?
Also, if possible, please confirm whether the existing working OpenVPN Connect entries were created in that same version or in an older version of RDM.
This will help us determine whether the behavior changed after a specific RDM update.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Hi Carl,
im starting to question my sanity, since i can't remember if there ever was a credential-button for this type of VPN.
You no longer need to take Action, please ignore this thread.
Thank you very much!
