Disable Live Chat and AI buttons in Remote Desktop Manager

Disable Live Chat and AI buttons in Remote Desktop Manager

avatar

We are using Remote Desktop Manager in standalone mode, without Devolutions Account, Devolutions Server, or any cloud services.
Current configuration:

  • No Devolutions Account in use
  • AI provider set to None
  • MCP server (Experimental) disabled
  • No online, AI, or support services enabled or accessible

Despite this, two UI buttons are still visible in the top-right corner:

  • Live Chat (Support)
  • AI icon

We have verified all available settings (User Interface, Ribbon, AI, Account, etc.) and found that:

  • There is no supported option to hide or remove these buttons in standalone RDM
  • The buttons appear to be static UI elements, even when the related functionality is unavailable
  • The functions behind the buttons are effectively inactive, but the icons remain visible

This causes UX and compliance concerns, as users may perceive these as active features.
We would like to know whether:

  • There is a supported way to hide or disable these UI elements when not in use, or
  • There are plans to support a stricter offline / on‑prem‑only UI mode without AI/support icons

We appreciate any guidance or confirmation on best practice for this scenario.

Hello,

We have a GPO named "DisableAssistantRelatedFeatures". If you enable this GPO, this should not only disable all the features you mentioned, but also hide them entirely.
Let us know if this solution is not satisfactory, and we will investigate what we can do.
