For example, Ö is treated as O for sorting purposes.

Hi etfz,

Thanks for the details, that helped a lot.

Good news: there's already a setting for exactly this. Go to File > Settings > User Interface > Tree view, and look for Tree view culture. Set it to Swedish, and the tree should sort Å, Ä, and Ö at the end of the alphabet, the way you'd expect.

https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/commands/file/options/user-interface/tree-view/

Could you give it a try and let me know if it lines things up correctly? If anything still looks off after that, send another screenshot, and we'll take a closer look.

Thanks again!

Best regards,

Hello etfz,

Thanks for flagging this!

You're right that entry sorting currently treats Ö the same as O. It uses a locale-neutral comparison, which works for German but breaks for Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, and others where Ö, Å, and Ø belong at the end of the alphabet.

Before I bring this to the team, could you share a few details so we can scope it properly?

  • RDM version and edition
  • OS language and RDM application language
  • Data source type (SQL Server, DVLS, XML, etc.)
  • A quick screenshot of the affected tree
  • Which order you'd expect (i.e., which locale's rules)

Thanks again for taking the time to report it!

Best regards,

  • Remote Desktop Manager Team Edition 2026.1.15.0
  • OS locale: Swedish
  • RDM locale: English
  • Data source: SQL Server
  • Expected order: Swedish (...XYZÅÄÖ)

That works. Thank you.

There were no options to pick from. I had to enter sv-SE.
