Hello,
Not sure if people would find this useful or not, I was thinking about it myself. But sometimes when RDM reaches out to Keeper for credentials it may take anywhere from 3-5 seconds (maybe even up to 10s sometimes, although that's rare). I know there's the setting we can set to have it cache Keeper credentials, and we do tell all our users to set that, so on subsequent requests it should be fast.
I'm just thinking it might be beneficial for the app to tell the user what's happening during the delay when it does have to reach out to Keeper (or , presumably, any third-party service that RDM integrates with, when it has to interact with that platform's API) - just like a small modal dialog or something to let the user know that it's connecting to Keeper to obtain credentials (or something to that effect). It's quick enough I don't think a progress bar would be necessary, more just something so the user knows what's going on.
The current behavior is that it appears RDM does nothing until the interaction is complete (at which point the session opens), so users would probably think their mouse clicks didn't register or something and try to open it again.
Best regards,
David Willis
Hello David,
This is a good point. This is normally something we add when we make external calls so the user knows something is processing, but there may have been a technical issue back when we first implemented Keeper, or maybe we just forgot. I will open a ticket for this.
