The Linked (external vault) option you are referring to links to another vault within RDM itself. Not an external vendor vault.

This Delinea documentation is missing important information on step one. You need to create a Delinea Secret Server entry type first. Then, you can link a server entry (RDP, SSH, etc) to this Delinea Secret Server entry.


What license product do you have? The Delinea entry types require a PAM package license in order to work.

My existing license is Remote Desktop Manager Module Delinea.

I was able to enter this:

But not sure which entry I should select for this window after succesful login:

Thank you for your follow-up.

This entry is used for credential injection. You can either select the specific credential entry you want to use or enable the prompt-with-list option to choose the credential in Delinea each time it is required.

The next step is to configure any entry type that requires a credential from Delinea:

• Create a new entry.
• Set the credential to "Linked (vault)".
• Select your Delinea credential entry.
• Complete the configuration of your entry.

You should then be able to test the configuration. Please let me know if it works as expected.
