Focus instead of filter

avatar

Hi,

Simple questions, didn't found answer yet.
I would like to search for a connection in my RDM tree but with CTRL + F it filters the connection whereas I just want a focus on the session (and still see other connections available).

PLease advise.

Two simple solutions

1. Disable the shortcut redirection with the little magnet in the status bar

or

2. Go in File->Options --> Keyboard and change or disable the filter shortcut

Thanks but don't think I correctly explained or you misunderstood.

I don't need to disable the filter shortcut, I want to look/search with ctrl + F not filter.
Item should be focussed in tree, not filter should apply.

Your settings just disables the search.

Fyi: just like VisionApp does: type a name and it goes to this connection (expands the folders below it) but still shows all other connections.

This is the incremental search feature. Click on the tree and start typing and use Ctrl+ Up and Down to move from one to another matching entry

Thanks but there is still a misunderstanding of what I want to achieve.

I DON'T want ANY filter at ALL applied when I search.
No entries should be filtered away, the search should just focus on the connection that is searched for and expand the folders in which is it in.

Have you tried the incremental search? It does not filtered by it highlight the current selection. However it's possible that it's not what you want.

Thanks but yes, I did. Please note we always used VisionApp and were very happy about it. We would like the functionalities of VisionApp in Remote Desktop Manager.
Pracitcally: ctrl + f then typing name of server focusses on typed name (f.e. Exchange01) but does not filter out other connections.
I seem to fail to explain this concept to you, maybe you could try VisionApp and test this to make it more clearly?

Remote Desktop Managers ctrl + f filters out other names (f.e. Exchange01), when you clear the filter all other connections are shown but you loose the focus of the server you focus on, f.e. Exchange01. This is what we do NOT want.

Note: disabling the filter works but then you have to type the beginning of the name to have the connection.
F.e. I'm looking for "server02 - exchange". I cannot type ctrl + f (when filter disabled) then typing exchange, I have to type server02 to find it. I would like to type just exchange and then focus on "server02 - exchange"
