Mouse jiggler not working in 2025.3.32.0

avatar

Running RDM from my Windows 11 machine connecting to multiple Win2019 & Win2022 servers and finding that the Mouse Jiggler function doesn't seem to be working. If I move away from RDM for several minutes and then come back I find that most of the RDP connections I had have been disconnected. I've tried some of the suggestions I have seen in other forum posts such as changed the Enable from Default (Yes) to Yes changing the method from mouse to function key but I am still getting disconnected.

Hello

Was this something that was working before, and then stopped? Or it's the first time you tried it?

There's a couple things to check and do to help troubleshoot this:

  • Please post your full Windows version information (the output of Start > Run >winver). This feature hooks private Microsoft APIs and it's not unknown for a change on their side to break something
  • In Settings > Entry Types > Sessions > Remote Desktop (RDP) > API Hooking, check that API Hooking is "Enabled" (that's a prerequisite)
  • In the same section, set the "Log Level" to "Trace" and provide the path to a directory to create a log file (for example, to your desktop)
  • Save the changes and restart RDM

Now reproduce the issue - i.e. connect to an RDP session, and let it idle for at least as long as it should take for the mouse jiggle to activate (whatever time you have configured on the session). You should find a log file named MsRdpEx_RDM.log in the directory you specified above - please send it to me by PM.

Afterwards, turn the "Log Level" setting back to "Off". It has a non-zero performance impact.

Please let me know if something isn't clear or you have other questions

Kind regards,
