Macros/Scripts/Tools missing Tools

Macros/Scripts/Tools missing Tools

avatar

Hi,
I’m running into an issue with Remote Desktop Manager and I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I used to have built‑in tools like “Check if host is online” nad "continuos Ping" available under Macros/Scripts/Tools, but it has disappeared from my installation. I'm able to see the Macros/Script/Tools but the options aren't there anymore
I’m not sure when it happened, but I suspect I may have changed something on my PC or in my RDM configuration that caused it to vanish.

Hi Hillel,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please verify whether, when you select an RDP connection and right-click in the area where the tabs usually appear, the Macros/Scripts/Tools tab may have been accidentally unchecked?

In the worst case, you can also try performing a full layout reset to see whether this helps restore the missing Macros/Scripts/Tools tab. You can find the steps here:

https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/troubleshooting-articles/reset-layout/

Please let us know whether that helps.

Best regards,

Hi Hillel,

Isn't this a situation where you select two or more connections, even if they're the same type, and you want to run a tool from the context menu or dashboard in the Macros/Scripts/Tools section, but the tools aren't visible, for example, Wake on LAN?

In my case, this happened after updating from version 2025.2.32 to 2026.1.x.
I tested it on all 2026.1.x releases, and unfortunately, the behavior is identical.
The built-in tools don't appear when two or more connections are selected.
