Hello

I'm afraid your Windows version is too old. I believe you need at least 23H2.

While it's true that .NET 9 will install and run on older systems; it by default enables new security features that are only compatible with the newer OS versions.

Please, let me know I something isn't clear or you have further questions

Kind regards,

Hi Richard,

By the way which is the latest RDM (from the previous available versions - https://devolutions.net/remote-desktop-manager/download/previous-versions/ ) that I can install on that OS version.
Not so easy to update it so quickly.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I would recommend starting with version 2024.1 and evaluating how it performs. If everything works as expected, you can then proceed with upgrading to 2024.2, and so on.

Hello

Further to what was suggested above, this was a .NET 9 change so you should be good on the last version which supported .NET 8. I'd recommend starting with 2024.3.31 - you'll also need the .NET 8 Windows Desktop Runtime installed.

Thanks and kind regards,

Team,

I have installed successfully suggested version 2024.3.31 + .NET8.
Working perfectly! Once again thanks for the support.
We will think of upgrading to new Windows Server OS, so we can follow your latest releases.

Hello

Good news, thanks for the follow up. RDM in the 2025.x releases is built on .NET 9, which enables new security features by default and limits support for older Windows versions. It would have been a headache for us to workaround this and at the cost of security, so it's not something we did. For you information RDM 2026.1 will be released next month, which is built on .NET 10 but I don't believe the system requirements change again.

Please let me know fi you have any other questions or comments, but for now I'll mark this thread as "resolved".

Kind regards,

Richard Markievicz
