Remote Desktop - show at actual size

avatar

Hi folks. I'm new to Devolutions and it looks good. I have a simple question, though. For Remote Desktop sessions, if I'm not using "Full Screen mode", how do I get Devolutions to show the remote screen at the requested resolution instead of showing it slightly scaled-down? For instance, if I set the resolution for the session to 1900x1200, it's showing up on my computer scaled down to around 1600x1000,even though the resolution says it's 1900x1200.
My computer is Windows 11. My display is 2560x1440, so I've got enough screen space to show a 1900x1200 session. Windows is set to scale the display to 125%, so maybe that's causing the issue in Devolutions? Is Devolutions trying to "unscale" the image it's rendering for the session?
Thanks for any help.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Devolutions Support.

Based on your description, it appears you may be using Smart Sizing or a similar option in the Entry Properties under Display settings.

If you change this option to Dynamic Resolution, you should be able to force a specific resolution.

Please let us know if this resolves the issue.

Best regards,

Carl Marien

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the info. I tried that, but it still showed a scaled-down image of the remote screen.

I got to playing around, and found I could get something usable by setting the window to Undocked, then setting Screen Sizing Mode to "Smart reconnect" and Remote Desktop size to "Default (Custom)", then just sizing the window to whatever size and location I want. That's plenty good enough for me for now. Having it be exactly 1900x1200 isn't set in stone, I just didn't want the internal image scaled down, and I guess I went the long way around to figure it out.

Thanks again for your help.

Dave
