SSH: curly brackets do not work with Alt key combinations

SSH: curly brackets do not work with Alt key combinations

avatar

Good morning, it seems to me that with the latest RDM updates, curly brackets can no longer be typed using the Alt+123 and Alt+125 combinations in SSH sessions. Is this the case for you too? Can I make them work with a specific setting, or have changes been made? The Alt+123 combination, for example, generates the string: [<user>@<hostname> ~]$ .{bash{_{history,logout,profile},rc},c{ache,onfig}}.
Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this.

Yes, this behavior is known and has been reproduced on our side with the latest Remote Desktop Manager versions.

At the moment, there is no specific setting or workaround within RDM to restore this behavior. Our developers are actively investigating the root cause and a fix will be included in a future update.

We’ll keep this issue tracked internally and follow up as soon as more information is available. Thanks for taking the time to report it.

Best regards,

Carl Marien

Hello,

Thank you for your follow-up.

Apologies for the long wait, this issue has indeed been resolved. The fix was included in version 2025.3.31.0 of Remote Desktop Manager.

If you're running a more recent version, such as 2026.1.11.0, the behavior you described should now be working as expected.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you notice anything else or have additional questions.

Best regards,

Carl Marien
