Continue SSH Session if log location is inaccessible

Would it be possible to add a feature where an SSH connection continues if the custom log location is not accessible? Right now we have our logs going to a central server, but if that server is down then SSH connections complain it's not accessible and immediately close the session. Preferrably it should either continue with no logging at all, or better yet, ask for a different log location.
