Hello,
So i would like to request an option when using a website entry.
We have a constant need to change the ip addresses locally so we mostlly use hostanems locally. the problem is that we are on a diffrent subnet so we can't just type in the hostname in the web url so it would be nice if there would be an option in Devolutions that would point a hostname to the ip. basiclly an option that would write in the dns records of the computer.
Best regards,
Sebastian
Hello Sebastian,
Would you be able to give more information as to how you'd imagine this flow to work in RDM? From what I understand, your entries would have a specific hostname, and you'd want this hostname to resolve to a different IP depending on where you're located, is this correct? How can RDM know which IP to make this host point to, is it a value you'd expect to configure in each individual entry?
There's an "alternate host" feature which is meant to be used when you'd like to connect to a different host under different circumstances, maybe that's something you could look into if the IPs should be set in the entries directly anyway. This is available here in entries:
It's possible we may not have what you need but I feel it's a question of making our existing features fit together in a way that would work for you. Let me know what you think and if I'm understanding your needs correctly or not.
