$VPN_PASSWORD$ Variable not passed through custom VPN connection script

When creating a custom VPN connection and you need to pass the $VPN_PASSWORD$ variable to a script, then it does not work if the VPN connection is created on a folder that should be interited to subfolders even when the "allow password variable" is enabled. Instead of the variable, only the following text is passed to the script "$VPN_PASSWORD$.

To better understand the issue with the $VPN_PASSWORD$ variable not being passed correctly, could you please let us know which version of Remote Desktop Manager you are currently using and which data source you are working with?

  • If you are using Devolutions Server (DVLS), please also include the DVLS version.


I am currently trying to reproduce the behavior on my side. To help us get a clearer picture of your setup, could you please share a screenshot of:

  • The exact folder structure where the entry is located
  • The settings you have configured for both the folder(s) and the VPN entry


This will help us identify what might be causing the variable to be passed as plain text instead of being resolved.
