Sometimes, i forgot to logoff a RDP session, and I close with the "X", or I make a mistake with the "X", with opened app. In this case the application remain opened.
Is there an option or alert that warns you if you are closing with the "X" and not with the logout?
Thank you
Marco
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Devolutions Support.
Yes, it is possible to change the behavior of the "X" button by setting "Log off when disconnecting" to "Yes."
There are two ways to apply this setting:
At the entry level (applies to one individual entry):
1. Open the entry properties.
2. Go to the Advanced section.
3. Set "Log off when disconnecting" to "Yes."
At the application level (applies to all entries opened in this RDM installation):
1. Go to File > Settings > Entry Type > Session.
2. Select Remote Desktop (RDP).
3. Adjust the default setting for "Log off when disconnecting."

Carl Marien
Thank you Carl
I've tried these options, and they work. But I'd like a different option: a warning when I close without disconnecting, like "Are you sure you want to close the connection?"
Hello,
Understood. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to add a message at the close of the session. However, if you’d like, I can forward your request to our feature request forum on your behalf.

Yes, thank you.
Hello,
There already is an option to request confirmation before closing a connection. You can find it under the Events section of an entry's properties, in the Before closing sub-section, it is named Confirm on disconnect. That said, we understand that setting this up on every entry isn't the best way to have this in effect, so we've modified this option to be a combo selection with a Default setting. The default setting will fetch the new option located in File - Settings - Entry types - Sessions, named Disable connection close confirmation message. Simply uncheck this box, and all opened tabs with connections will prompt for a confirmation before closing.
You can expect this with the upcoming 2026 version.
