Add Confirmation Before Host Discovery to Prevent Unintended SOC Alerts

Dear staff, when I configure a host and click on the button with the three dots next to the hostname, discovery starts immediately. This has caused the SOC to generate alerts. It would be nice if this button showed a confirmation before starting discovery. This could avoid alerts and related misunderstandings among colleagues, especially when administrators are new to RDM and clicking on this button may be unintentional. Hello,
We could add a confirmation with a "Don't show again" checkbox so users who wouldn't like the additional click will only receive this prompt once.

Thank you very much! Perhaps an application setting to re-enable it could be useful. Alternatively, if you think this warning is not necessary, the same setting could be disabled by default. In any case… thank you again! Best regards.

We've added a prompt for confirmation when using the the buttons showcased in your screenshot. It will come with a "Don't ask again" option, than can be reset manually under File - Settings - Advanced, under the name Disable prompt for confirmation when browsing host. (Checkbox)
You can expect this with the upcoming 2025.3.26 version.
