partical sync with nextbox

Hello,

Do you mean that you would like for us to add textboxes when selecting these "Fields"? You could fill up a filter in each sub section to say, for instance, I want the tag "Bob" and the role "Admin" and so on?


When synchorinzing we would check the filters on each of these sections and only synchronize entries that match all of these filters?

I have two different roles, voice router and Wireless LAN Controller, when I define a netbox sync with role voice router, it works perfect, but If I change to Wireless LAN Controller, it couldn't match any thing, any idea about this? I am sure there are some devices relate with this Wireless LAN Controller roles in netbox.

The role filter in NetBox sync uses slug values (lowercase, with hyphens instead of spaces), as this is what NetBox's API matches against.

A few things that would help us narrow this down:

1. What value did you enter in the role filter? For example, wireless-lan-controller versus Wireless LAN Controller.
2. What's the actual slug in your NetBox? You can confirm it under Organization → Device Roles in the NetBox UI, in the Slug column. The slug isn't always what you'd expect from the display name (for example, it could be something like wlc or wlan-controller).
3. Do you have "Only devices containing a management IP" enabled in your sync parameters? If so, any Wireless LAN Controller devices in NetBox without a primary IPv4/IPv6 assigned would be filtered out, which could explain getting 0 results even with the correct slug.

The first two points cover the most common cause when one role works and another doesn't.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.

Thank you for help, I sorted on this. I encounter another small issue, I choosen a http template in Netbox Sync, in this template I setup display as external display, but the session created by this sync will change to Embededed(tabbed), any idea? I guess maybe I hit a bug :-)

Thanks for reporting this. I was able to confirm the behavior on my side. The NetBox synchronizer currently forces synced sessions into embedded mode regardless of what the template specifies, so the external display setting from the template gets overwritten during the sync.

I've pushed a fix for this which should be available in version 2026.1.23.0.
