Is it possible to add an option to disconnect but keep the tab open ?

Is it possible to add an option to disconnect but keep the tab open ?

Hi,

I often need to disconnect from a RDP without doing a log off, but I need to keep the tab open to connect easily later.
We have "Reconnect", would it be possible to add a "Disconnect" option ?

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,

This option already exists; you can find it in your entry Properties under the "User Interface" section. It is called "Keep tab page open on disconnect".

Let me know if this helps or if you have further questions regarding this,

Hello,

I'm not talking about this option, I already use it and it is great πŸ‘.

My question is about being able to "cut" the connection (RDP or others) from RDM and still keep the tab open.
The option you are talking about is more passive and not the same. In your case, it is used when the connection is cut off, the tab stays open.
What I "request" (humbly πŸ˜… ) is to be able to stop/cut the connection from RDM directly and keep the tab open.

Basically, it would be an action in the menu, like "Reconnect", but it would be "Disconnect":

It is useful whenever I need to leave my spot on the server to another admin, and then reconnect later. Currently I have to close the tab to free the connection and then I have to find the host and reopen it later.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply,

Does the "Log off" option not currently achieve this for you?

If you use this option with the "Keep tab page open on disconnect" enabled, it will disconnect you from the session while keeping the tab open on your end.

Let me know,

Hi,
no at all :)
For instance, with RDP, "Log off", will actually end my session and close all the running programs, which is not at all the same as "disconnecting".
"Log off" is the equivalent of "Sign out".
Disconnect would simply leave the session as it is and cut the RDP connection.

What is missing is a simple "Disconnect" :)

Hi,

did you read my last answer ? Do you see the difference between Disconnect and Log Off and the advantages of adding it to all users ?

thanks :)

Hello,

Thank you for your reply my apologies for the delay,

I see, indeed, I understand how such an option would be useful in the contextual menu. My recommendation would be to create a feature request for this.

This allows our community to submit/share ideas with our development, service desk, and management teams. It’s also an opportunity for our community to demonstrate an interest in your idea. We use this interest to prioritize the features we implement.

Kindly post your idea on our forum at
