Hello,
I am using RDP Connections and have set them to all view in fullscreen. In their properties I also have set Keyboard Combinations in local resources to "fullscreen"
But it does not work. Whenever I am using for example Win+E it opens on locla client, not on the active fullscreen RDP Session. Even when I set it to "on remote cojputer" it still uses the key combination an local computer.
According to AI-Informations, there should be another, more global setting, but I can not find that:
Can you please help me? Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for reaching out! 😊
Your AI was definitely on the right track — the setting you’re looking for is just in a slightly different spot. You can find it under:
File → Settings → Entry types → Sessions → Remote Desktop (RDP) → Keyboard hook
From there, you can customize where the Windows keys will be used by default.
Hope this helps you get everything set up just the way you want!
Best regards,
Stephan

@Stephan Haupt
Hi Stephan,
thank you, now I found the setting at least.
Unfortunately the behaviour is still the same. I went through a number a combinations - all "on Remote", all on "fullscreen", with "use shortcut" without "use shortcut", rdd display windowed, embedded, fullscreen, extended over multiple monitors ..... - but every shortcut with Window-Key is still executed on local computer while "normal" shortcuts work fine in rdp session. I think I have to life without it. I will miss multiple clipboard soooo much :-)
Hey,
please don’t give up just yet! 😄
On my side, switching the “Apply Windows key combinations” setting to “On the remote computer”, on the Entry level, works as intended.
Let’s try a couple of things to rule out whether another configuration might be causing the issue on your side:
Portable Remote Desktop Manager version - Devolutions Documentation
Let me know if you notice any differences in the results. Unfortunately, there can be several factors — even outside of RDM — that may influence this behavior.
Best regards,
Stephan
Hi Stephan,
you are so right with "...even outside rdm...." :-)
A colleague of mine, who do not have the problem, found out what caused my issue:
"normal" users of RemoteDesktopManager (like me) running it as a workresource over terminal server. Therefore hooking must be looped through twice. And that does not seems to work (at least with current terminal server settings). He instead is an IT-guy who is running a local installation without terminal server, hooking must be looped through only once, what works without problem.
So I assume that your suggestion with the portable version of rdm will solve my issue as well as using local installation instead of terminal server.
But first I will bother our IT department to take a look in terminal server settings, maybe they can solve the loopthrough :-)
Thank you very much for you effort!
Best regards,
Martin
Hi Martin,
thank you very much for the additional information — that makes perfect sense. It’s quite likely that the terminal server setup is interfering with the hooking loop.
If it’s not too much trouble, please keep us updated on any specific terminal server settings or workarounds your IT department discovers. That would be great information for future reference.
Thanks again for your efforts and for sharing your findings!
Best regards,
Stephan
Hi all,
unfortunately our IT-guys could not find a proper solution when using terminal server.
Since "normal" shortcuts work, there is no general problem with the keyboard input. Therefore, I completely understand why our IT colleagues are out of ideas.
Using protable version instead of terminalserver works for me!
Best regards,
Martin
Hey Martin,
Thanks for the update.
I'll run some tests in our environment to check if I encounter similar issues when using a terminal server.
Do you use RDM as a remote app, or do you run the Terminal Server session and start RDM there?
Thanks
Stephan
Hi Stephan,
in our company we are using RDM as remote app.
Thank you for your efforts!
BR,
Martin
Hi Martin,
So far, I have not been able to see the same issue as you described.
From what I see, the shortcuts get looped through properly in our setup.
I will do some more tests and try different Terminal setups if possible.
