Good day!
I am having an issue with VNC connections in RDM where opening up a VNC connection in embedded or tabbed view, then resizing the window (including undocking and resizing) will cause the local cursor and the remote cursor to drift significantly in the vertical direction. I attempt to click on a button, and I click on something else far below that. It appears to only happen during the resize of the window, but I believe is triggered by other events as I have seen the cursor drift over time.
I have attempted to cycle through the cursor settings in the advanced tab of the VNC configuration, the different rendering engines, and even cycled through encoding settings. All have the same results.
I have confirmed that RDM in Windows does not have this issue, and the issue has persisted from Sequoia (15) to Tahoe (26) through different updates of RDM. I have installed RealVNC viewer, and launched a connection into it through RDM and that worked without any issues.
I am wondering if there maybe a setting I have missed, maybe a compatibility issue with TightVNC, or another problem all together?
Any help is appreciated!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.
I was able to reproduce the mouse drift issue you’re experiencing with VNC on our latest version. I’ve reported this bug to the development team, and they will begin working on a fix shortly.
In the meantime, I’ll let you know if I discover a viable workaround. I’ll also follow up with you as soon as a fix is deployed in a future update.
Best regards,
Jacob Lafrenière
Hello,
The issue with the mouse offset in VNC when you resize should be solved in the latest version of RDM Mac (2025.3.7.3).
If there's anything, don't hesitate to communicate with us.
Best regards,
