comprehensive network performance graphs of Microsoft RDP

I was wanting to visualize RDP performance in a graph. This would allow me to better understand poor performance scenarios and optimize the remote connection.

In specific, I would like the following statistics to be graphed and logged in RDM:

  • RDP version (8.1,10.10,10.11,10.12)
  • Whether UDP or TCP is currently in use
  • Available bandwidth
  • Utilized bandwidth
  • Encode and Decode times
  • Network latency
  • Encode and Decode methods (hardware, software)
  • RDP assessed 'quality of connection'
  • group policy settings applied
  • current framerate
  • max frame rate
  • color depth

Modelling parsecs performance overlay would be a great start.

Hi,

I don't think there's a good way to extract this kind of information from the Microsoft first-party client, but there are some community tools like Remote Display Analyzer that may be better suited for this: https://rdanalyzer.com/

Would this work?

Best regards,

Hi Marc - this is exactly what im looking for. Thank you.

However, due to it being expensive - upper management is unlikely to acquire the tool.
