I am using VMWare Synchronizers in my RDM instance, and we have several machines that are created by Recover Point 4 VM in our DR Environment. They are powered off and can't be connected to. There are a significant number of these machines (close to a 1000) and with the 5000 entry guideline, I'd like to not be wasting entry counts on these machines. It would be nice if I could filter these out because they have a distinct naming pattern. I'm open to other options as well. At this point I'm considering a scheduled task every night scheduled after our vmware sync's to delete the entries.
Hello,
We already have a way to filter by group (which will only import machines belonging to that group), and we could definitely add a setting to exclude machines by a criteria (which in your case, would be the name). This filter could be a RegEx filter which would be very versatile. Would this work for you?

That would be amazing. What does the group field look at? I don't think these machines are all in the same group. But yes RegEx on the name field would be awesome!
Perfect, I've opened a ticket and we will see about adding this.
For the group filter, you can read more about it on our help topic: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/knowledge-base/configure-a-vmware-synchronizer-entry-in-en-rdm/
VMWare VMs have a path (group hierarchy). For example, if the entered value is SiteA\LocationB\CustomerC, Remote Desktop Manager will only synchronize the VMs that match that path (and sub-paths).
So it might not be helpful in your case.

Hubert Mireault
Yeah, that won't really help much in my case. But thanks for opening up a ticket to try to add the feature!
Have a great day!
Hello,
The setting to exclude specific machines will be added in the 2026.1 release.
