Hello,

We will have an Azure VM synchronizer feature available starting with our 2025.3 major release this fall.

@Hubert Mireault,
Would you be able to share the steps to setup the synchronizer and how to use this feature for Azure VM access ?
Thank you.

Hello,

You can read more about how to configure the Azure Virtual Machine synchronizer entry on our help topic here: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/how-to-articles/configure-an-azure-vm-synchronizer-entry-in-rdm/
Let me know if you have any additional question.

Thank you @Hubert Mireault,
Based on the article you've posted, can you please clarify the following:

  1. Does the Synchronizer need to be set up per Azure Subscription?
  2. What if a new Azure Resource Group is created, which contains a new Azure VM, do I have to manually edit the synchronizer and then check the new Resource group name?
  3. What supported credentials are supported to avoid entering or hardcoding the password for the background Azure VM synchronizer?

Hello,

I will go over your points:

  1. At the moment yes, you would need to create one synchronizer entry per subscription. It's not currently possible to synchronize from more than one from the same entry.
  2. You would need to go select the new resource group in the synchronizer entry. It may be possible to improve this so let me know if the current behavior makes it difficult for me to use.
  3. At the moment, it's not possible to link to a set of credentials. I checked and the credential section isn't used for now. Other than the username field, what fields did you expect to be able to fill through a credential entry? We don't store the password in the Azure VM synchronizer as it logs in through SSO so only the username is stored.
