Use case (see attachment): you have a filtered view ("esfw" keyword) and want to auto-type credential within fields ("FCO-VCTR" tabbed device)

Hello,
Just to confirm, do you mean these "auto typing" buttons in the context menu?
If so, I will open a ticket so we can add this to the opened tab as well.

Hubert Mireault

Hello @Hubert Mireault can you also try the "Copy username and password" menu action? Both the "Copy username" and the "Copy password" are successful, but when trying to get both the username and password the outcome is empty.

Hello,
The issue is most likely that a program on your computer is inspecting the clipboard and it triggers the "promise" value, so that when you then try to paste the values, it fails.
Please take a look at our help topic regarding the clipboard diagnostic feature: https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/troubleshooting-articles/clipboard-diagnostic/
This should help you figure out what application is causing this to fail. Let us know if you're not able to reach a conclusion with the diagnostic tool.
Additionally, there's a good chance the "Copy username" and "Copy password" work because you configured the clipboard method to be in "legacy" mode, which doesn't use the "promise" value and instead stores the information directly in the clipboard, which is less secure. It's not possible for the "Copy username & password" to work without the "promise" value, so the legacy mode doesn't apply to this button.

Hello,
I've implemented it, and this will be in RDM 2025.3 coming this fall.
