Hi,
Let's say I have a customer folder template (I do) , and it has a custom field with the domain of the customer.
To further streamline the creation of a new customer folder, I would love the ability to have this variable depend on the name of the folder.
Example:
The folder name is called "Some Cust" , the variable is set to let's say "$lower($nospace($NAME$)).lsite" ,
Which results in the variable being set to "somecust.lsite",
Which would in turn cause everything else I put in it to be set correctly (it is all dependand on that for domain).
I don't know if this is already possible somehow, but in case it's not, here's the request...
Hello,
We have the $FOLDER_NAME$ variable which allows you to take the name of the parent folder. However, I do not believe we have anything to allow you to remove spaces or do a tolower.
One alternative we have are the "Custom Variables" which can be found in the vault settings or the system settings. Here is an example below :
The thing with this is that these variables need to be added or updated by hand so it may or may not save time for you depending on your scenarios.
As for your feature request to allow case and space manipulation, we will monitor this thread and track the interest of our general user base in this feature. This change will be harder than it may seem considering the way our variables currently work and we will have to think carefully about how to implement this.
