RDP screen size adjustment without re-connection

RDP screen size adjustment without re-connection

I am ware that Windows RDP (msmtp) triggers a re-connection to adjust screen size of the session, but,
Is there really no way to circumvent that?

I find it incredebly annoying to have to re-connect a session just to change the session's screen size.

There are cases where I strongly prefer working with RDP as a tab, typically, when I'm only connected to the server for a short task, or when I need to do a similar task in multiple servers, but there are likewise cases where I strongly prefer having it set to "working area" and have my entire monitor be of use to the session, typically, when I'm doing a lot of complicated and lenghty work on one server.

Hello

In the "Display" tab of the RDP session, please try changing the "Screen sizing mode" to "Dynamic Resolution". This will change the server resolution "on-the-fly" as you resize the tab or undocked window in RDM. It's an RDP 8 feature, which means any remotely recent Windows RDP server will support it (since Windows 8 or 8.1).

You can also change the default application-wide in File > Settings > Entry Types > Sessions > Remote Desktop (RDP).

Let me know if that helps
