Hi,
Let's say I create "Site A", and it has a sub folder "Common Domain Credentials" with "Domain A" in a custom field of the "Site A folder" used by the credentials.
I then add "Entry A" and it is set to linked credentials -- prompt -- from folder "Common Domain Credentials".
If I than duplicate "Site A" into "Site B" , the entry "Entry A" will -- prompt -- as intended, BUT, the source folder will be the cred directory under "Site A" parent folder, instead of "Site B" parent folder.
Can we have that linking be dynamic, such that when we use "duplicate" on the parent folder, it points to the (correct) duplicated sub-folder that resides under the (correct) duplicated parent folder?
Yes, this is something we should be able to fix. I will log the issue.
Thank you for reporting it.

Curious to know which version you are currently using?
I might have already addressed this issue recently. You see, we used to only save the "path" of the folder, but now we also save the folder ID, and it takes priority over the path. So in situations like this, when you duplicate, we make a copy in memory, generate new IDs for everything, remap the old IDs to the new IDs so we don't break any links, and then save. This is the theory; I haven't tested this exact scenario yet.
So please let me know which version you are on while I validate things on my end.

I can confirm the issue has not yet been resolved (v2025.2.14.0).

Indeed, I am on version 2025.2.14.0
Hi,
Sorry for the confusion but duplicate are meant to be an exact copy of the selection.
For the case you are describing i would recommend using "Template group" instead.
From the quick test i ran it should behave as you were expecting duplicate to.
You can add your curent setup by right-clicking on the parent folder "SiteA" and save it as a template group under the "add" section.
Once added you should be able to select it under the "template" section when adding a new entry.
Only thing left is to choose the desired name for the group "SiteB"

Hi,
After further discussions with the development team, we have decided to modify the duplicate behavior to align with your request.
As this is a relatively new feature, the change should have minimal impact on the overall user experience.
We plan to resume work on this in the near future and will keep you informed of our progress.

Hi,
That's great to know! Thanks for the update!
