Shared password for multiple SSH connections?

Shared password for multiple SSH connections?

Is there a way to get Remote Desktop Manager to use a shared password? I have a lot of SSH connections and I want to make it so that every time I change a password I only have to change it once and it works for all my connections?

UPDATE: Actually, I figured it out myself. Click the plus sign (New Entry), add a New Entry, on the left-hand side go to Credential Management, then select "Username and password (Credential management)." Give it a name like "ConnectionCredentials", type in the username, password, domain, or whatever, click "Add".

Then for each connection, right-click and go to Edit --> Edit Entry to edit the connection. Under "Credentials", click on the drop-down menu and change it to "Linked (vault)", and select the ConnectionCredentials item you created earlier. Then click Save. Thanks! This is great!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.

You can use a credentials entry by selecting the Username and Password option. Once you've entered the credentials, link them to your SSH entries using the Linked (vault) credentials type.

If you need to update the password later, simply edit the existing credential entry.

Please let me know if you would like further details or assistance.

Hello. I'm afraid I need more explanation about this solution. So, my passwords for all 20 of my SSH connections just expired. I have reset my password and now I need to change the SSH entries one-by-one. Just to make it clear we're talking about the same thing, this is found when you right-click the entry and go to Edit --> Edit Entry, then go to General tab --> Password for each connection.

Where do I find these "credential entries" you're referring to? Can you give me a little more information?

Hello,

Glad that you have been able to find the solution by yourself.

To push it a little bit further, to update a setting on several entries at the same time, you can use the Batch Edit feature
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/how-to-articles/batch-edit-connection-entries/

Also, it's possible to use a Template to create your entries with this specific configuration. This means that it would be easier for you to create your new entries + you make sure that you don't forget this specific configuration
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/concepts/intermediate-concepts/templates/

Happy holidays!
