New versions of RDM free have an issue when connecting to Windows Server (2012-2022) RDP services.
Connection keeps dropping and reconnecting - making impossible to use.
Windows App works fine.

Tested on Intel Macbook pro (2019) with Ventura 13.7.5

Summary of my testing.
2025.1.16.2 05/2025 v2025.1.16.2 - *NOT WORKING*
2025.1.16.1 04/2025 v2025.1.16.1 - *NOT WORKING*
2025.1.13.3 03/2025 v2025.1.13.3 - *WORKING*

Hi.

Same here on iMac 27 2020. 16.1 worked fine yesterday. Strangely today got same issue. No reboot since yesterday cause i usually hibernate computer when i use it day after day.

I've saw 16.2 available which mentionned a fix with RDP gateway. Thought it's the cause of my problem but even with updated app, got the same result.

First time it happens like that. I've cleared app cache but same result again.

MacOS is up-to-date with last build available. 15.4.1

Best regards.

Hi

I do apologize for the inconvenience. We had an issue here affected Intel Macs only. 2025.1.16.3 will be released imminently with a hot fix for this.

In the meantime, disable the "sandbox" mode (either in the Advanced tab of individual RDP sessions, or in the application Settings > Types > Remote Desktop (RDP)).

Please let me know if something isn't clear or you have further questions

Kind regards,

Richard Markievicz

Hi.

Just to inform that .16.3 fixed the problem. I just don't understand why it happened suddenly without any system or software changes... As indicated, even with 16.1 or 16.2 it worked fine 1 day ago.

Thx.

Hello

First, thanks for getting back to me with confirmation that things are working. That's the most important thing.

We've had two critical bugs in the 2025.1.16.1 release; one affecting users connecting via a Remote Desktop Gateway; the other affecting users connecting to any RDP server with the sandbox mode enabled when using an Intel Mac.

2025.1.16.3 has the fixes for both these issues.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. This release has exposed some flaws in our both our development process and quality assurance that we are working to address.

Please don't hesitate if you have further questions or comments.

Kind regards,

Richard Markievicz
