Cursor blink is not working

avatar

Hello all,

I want to say that cursor blink is not working on RDM Free 2025.1.16.1. it does blink in ssh sessions but not in tools/terminal (local) Is there any possibility to enable that?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The internal discussion that began after I reported the behavior has led to a broader review on our side. The RDM macOS team will work on ensuring that the settings under File > Settings > Types > Terminals apply, when possible, to Tools > Terminal, including cursor blink and cursor type.

They have opened an internal case for this improvement, so I will not submit a separate feature request.

I will keep you updated on their progress and let you know when this improvement is included in a future update.

Thank you for reporting this and for your patience while we continue working to improve the product.

Best regards,

Jacob Lafrenière

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding this issue.

You can modify the Tools > Terminal behavior by going to File > Settings > Types > Terminals and enabling the cursor blink option.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Thank you for your answer, I have missed your reply. I have waited several updates if it might work out but it is still doesn't have any effect on my cursor on terminal. Even I have selected blink on it doesn't blnk. Now i can not change it's shape too.. is there anything I can try? may be a full removal of RDM?

Edit: I have removed from my mac entirely and still can not change cursor shape or behavior.

Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up.

I discussed the matter with the RDM macOS development team, and at this time there is no way to modify the cursor blink or cursor type for Tools > Terminal. I apologize for the confusion caused by my previous reply, as I was initially misinformed on this matter.

I recommend submitting a request in our Feature Request section of the forum, where you can explain your use case and share your suggestion with our team.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, or if you would like me to submit the request on your behalf. I would be happy to do so.

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Jacob Lafrenière
