Temporary access (RDM) notification | Pop-up in RDM

Hello,

I did some experiments with this function, but I did not find an option to activate a notification.

I don't mean the info on the Dashboard - I nearly never use it.
Is there a way to configure an automatically and noticable Popup/Window, so that I/a group of Admins get directly informed,
if a user made a request?

Best regards,
Daniel

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.

Unfortunately, there isn’t currently a pop-up window option available for configuring access requests in RDM.
If you’d like to see this added as a future feature, I’d be happy to move this thread to the Feature Request section of the forum.

In the meantime, the best approach is to set up access requests through Devolutions Workspace on your mobile device.
You’ll receive a notification on your phone, allowing you to approve or deny the request directly from there.

Best regards,

"In the meantime, the best approach is to set up access requests through Devolutions Workspace on your mobile device."
So many functions, so little time. Thanks also for this hint!

Hello Daniel,

In addition to what Jacob mentionned, when using Devolutions Server and Devolutions Hub, you should receive an email when a user makes a temporary access request with your user as the approver. For Server specifically, it will send a secure message, which you should see when within RDM or the Web UI of DVLS. Maybe that can help you at the moment.

Are you using DVLS or Hub as a datasource, or are you on SQL Server?

Hello Hubert,

we still use RDM/SQL. Yet a change (to Devolutions Server) is not possible from our side - especially, because an encrypted datasource (SQL) would still be a major problem for 3rd party applications, we use. We use different middleware, so changing one product or major function does have a big impact.

Daniel
