Hi,

we are trying to connect to a Linux server via RDM and SSH and are receiving the following error mes
(-3) Permission denied: incorrect credentials or security settings prevent the operation to complete.

Details of our config:

SSH-Entry itself:
Hostname specified
Credentials ā†’ Find by name (User Vault): name of the entry in the user vault

User Vault:
Entry Type: SSH Key
Imported the private key (ppk), saved the passphrase
Username specified under "Login Name"
Empty password under "SSH Key"

Authentication is successful within putty using the same username, ppk file and passphrase.

Could you please let us know exactly how and when the SSH key was created? Additionally, does the issue persist if you generate a new key using our SSH key generator?

I recall encountering a similar issue in the past, but Iā€™d like to confirm the details to be sure.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick update. Since this is an enterprise server, we cannot whitelist additional SSH keys ourselves. However, we were able to establish the connection using RDM and the integrated SSH Key agent.

Hello,

Thank you for the information.

Would it be possible to examine the two SSH keys to determine if there are any differences between them?

Specifically, could you check if the non-working key contains any extra line breaks or spaces between the key and the line `-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----`?

Hello,

it was the same key that was finally working with RDM and the integrated SSH Key agent.

It starts with:

PuTTY-User-Key-File-2: ssh-rsa
Encryption: aes256-cbc
Comment: rsa-key-20201104
