How do I set the $TERM variable to xterm-256color instead of xterm?

I have a bunch of SSH terminal data sources.

  • How do I set the TERM environment variable to "xterm-256color"? For all, they are currently set to "xterm". (For reference: In PuTTY, you go to Connection --> Data --> Terminal-type string)
  • Is there a way to set "xterm-256color" as the Default for all SSH terminal data sources?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Devolutions support.

Can you send a screenshot of you running "echo $TERM" in one of your SSH terminals?
They are all supposed to be xterm-256color by default. All mines are.

I look forward to your reply.

Hey Jacob, just jumping in here, if the terminals aren’t defaulting to xterm-256color, is there a way to manually override it globally in the app settings, or does it need to be set per session?

Disregard. It is not RDM that is controlling this, it is my server itself that forces "xterm" instead of "xterm-256color".
