I have no "Record" option in connection settings

Unfortunately, the session recording feature is not available in the free version of RDM.
As a workaround, you can use the Local Recorder option located under the Help ribbon menu.

You can find the path under Files > Settings > Application > Paths.
You can also change it to the desired path!
